Tower is a landmark of Bukittinggi and West Sumatra province in

Benteng Fort De Kock
This fort was founded by Captain Bouer in 1825 at the time of Baron Hendrik Mark De Kock as a commander Der Troepen and Deputy Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies, at first fort was named after this Stherrescant.Benteng height of 20 m with four small cannon at each corner Whitewashed - green. The fortress is situated on top of Bukit Jirek was used by the Dutch Army as a stronghold of the onslaught of the Minangkabau people, especially since the outbreak of war in 1821 Padri-1837.sekarang this castle fortress known as Fort de Kock.
